Story

What is the Ebini Integrated Agribusiness Project? The project is an integrated food production initiative with the goal of establishing an integrated, commercially viable and sustainable agri-business entity. It produces a range of selected and marketable crops which can also be processed into pulps and edible oils. Specifically, the project involves:
  • The cultivation of a selected range of annual and perennial crops.
  • The production of livestock (sheep) for sale as breeding stock, culls and fatteners as well as poultry.
  • Agro-processing utilizing crops produced on location or procured from farms in the Upper Berbice River, Guyana.
Management The project is being developed and promoted by the Caribbean Agricultural Commercial Services Hub (Guyana) Inc. or “CACSH” which is registered in selected Caribbean countries including inter alia as follows:
  • May 2016 under the companies act, 1995 of Trinidad and Tobago
  • December 2017 under the Companies Act, 1991 of Guyana.
CACSH is an agribusiness company that delivers agribusiness-based technology products and services to the public and private sectors within a self-sustaining business mode. The CACSH strategy is to generate financial surplus through the prudent recruitment and utilization of resources. CACSH is also uniquely positioned to leverage strategic partnerships with established institutions such as the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and other government and non-governmental agricultural agencies operating in the region. Location 5,000 acres of land was acquired from the Government of Guyana at the Ebini Intermediate Savannah in the Upper Berbice Rivers. The Intermediate Savannah is earmarked by the Government of Guyana to be established as a new agricultural frontier and has attracted investment from several domestic and international organizations and institutions. This location boasts large tracts of well drained and easily fertilized brown soil which is ideal for application of agricultural technology and establishing large scale farming. Climate conditions are also generally predictable and manageable. The Savannah is also reachable by road (Linden) and water (New Amsterdam) which is important to access workers, materials, inputs and storage facilities, as well as support distribution and marketing activities from Port Georgetown.
